Nessebar Guide

Nessebar is one of the oldest settlements in the area and testimony of it's rich history is evident in the architecture in the old town. Today it is large enough to be a town but originally it was a fishing village located on a rocky peninsula in the Black Sea.

The town is just south of Sunny Beach and is about 20 minutes drive from Bourgas airport. It is well connected with regular buses travelling all over the country. The buses to neighbouring resorts like Sunny Beach and St Vlas are frequent, quick and economic. However if you prefer a scenic trip you can choose to pay slightly more and catch the electric trains which regularly transfer holiday makers along the coastal road between the old town and Sunny Beach.

Although Nessebar is a single town you can consider it to be divided into two very different areas. The old town is built right on the peninsula and almost completely surronded by water. The new town is built on the hills between just south of Sunny Beach and reach right down to a large sandy beach. The two are connected with a thin strip of land which has a road and a promenade on it.
